Lend Me A Tenor At the Old Log Theatre
Wednesday, November 7

Lend Me a Tenor is set in September 1934. Saunders, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is primed to welcome world-famous Tito Morelli, known as Il Stupendo, the greatest tenor of his generation, to appear for one night only as Otello. The star arrives late and, through a hilarious series of mishaps, is given a double dose of tranquilizers and passes out. His pulse is so low that Saunders and his assistant, Max, believe he’s dead. In a frantic attempt to salvage the evening, Saunders persuades Max to get into Morelli’s Otello costume and fool the audience into thinking he’s Il Stupendo. Max succeeds admirably, but Morelli comes to and gets into his other costume, ready to perform. Now two Otellos are running around in costume and two women are running around in lingerie, each thinking she is with Il Stupendo. A sensation on Broadway and in London’s West End, this madcap, screwball comedy is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter. Register by October 17.  Fee: $86 (includes transportation, theater ticket and lunch—please select a menu option from the list below when registering)

Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn At the Chanhassen Dinner Theater
Wednesday, January 23

After years on the stage, Jim is ready to leave the bright lights of Broadway behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut to the chagrin of his dance partners, Ted and Lila.  Once settled, Jim soon realizes life without song and dance is not what he had hoped.  Linda, a talented yet reserved schoolteacher, and quirky friend Louise, help Jim turn the drab farmhouse into a unique country inn.  The Holiday Inn is only open on holidays with incredibly dazzling performances by Jim’s actor friends.  Ted makes a surprise visit and offers to make Linda a Hollywood film star.  Jim realizes the song in his heart isn’t complete without Linda and must tell her before it’s too late.
